Importance Of Breakfast: Breakfast means breaking the fast, Breakfast provides fuel to our brain & body after a long gap. So that means whenever we are starting our day, before that we need to have proper breakfast. Breakfast should be the heaviest meal, we need to get atleast 30-35% of total calorie from breakfast. Breakfast should be finished within 8:30-9:00 am in the morning. But those who work till late night and wake up late in the morning, they need to finish their breakfast within 2 hours after wake up.

Breakfast should have 55-60% carbohydrate as we need energy for the whole day, 20-25% of protein and rest should come from healthy fat.

  • Breakfast provides fuel to our body and brain thus we feel energetic all the day. This speed up the metabolic rate.
  • A healthy breakfast helps to maintain your ideal body weight. Reason is if we provide food time to time our body will never be in famine stage and thus proper breakfast can help to maintain proper body weight. Other than macronutrients we need proper micronutrients like calcium, VitB12 etc.
  • Few examples of healthy breakfast: Multigrain bread sandwich, Oats, milk with fruits, Milk with cornflakes or museli, Egg sandwich or Paneer roll etc.
  • A healthy breakfast reduces LDL-C and increases HDL-C, thus this will keep our heart healthy.

A heavy breakfast, medium lunch and a light dinner can make us healthy forever. Thus do not skip your breakfast, As these days we are very busy with hectic schedule, we often skip our meal, but time management is also important and we always should keep time for our meal. Do not skip your breakfast, proper timing and healthy breakfast can keep you fit and active always.

Other benefits: Cocoa present in dark chocolate contains caffeine and theobromine which improves brain functions. Dark chocolate also improves blood flow to the brain. Dark chocolate boosts our energy and improves our immune system.  Dark chocolate not only good for our health, this helps to boost our mood and we stay calm and positive. So friends, include dark chocolate 2 small pcs regularly or every alternative day inyour diet. Those who are obese can have dark chocolate twice in a week(2 small pcs) in their diet.
